Stuttgart gains experienced IP partner with his team: Dr. Andreas Schabenberger joins Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek

Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek's Stuttgart office continues to expand. Coming from Menold Bezler, Dr. Andreas Schabenberger will work as equity partner at the Stuttgart office effective January 1, 2018. He will be joined by Senior Associate Monika Küppers and Associate Felix Drefs.

Schabenberger (54) has been working in intellectual property law for more than 23 years. His main practice areas include trademark and design law, copyright law, and competition law, mostly associated with legal disputes and litigation. He also manages the worldwide brand portfolios of several companies. Schabenberger advises and represents companies from a variety of industries, ranging from the automotive sector to power tools, financial services, confectionery, footwear and shoes to medical products. Recent clients in litigation included chainsaw manufacturer STIHL, and Ritter Sport.

Schabenberger has been a partner at Menold Bezler since 2014. Previously, he worked at Gleiss Lutz from 2000 to 2014, as a partner since 2002. From 2013 to 2017, Schabenberger was a lecturer in trademark law at Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg.

There are currently 22 legal professionals working at the Stuttgart office, which has been continually expanded in recent years. When the Stuttgart team joined Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek in 2015, 17 lawyers worked there. The IP, Media & Technology practice group currently has 57 lawyers nationwide. Most recently, Dr. Thomas Jansen and Britta Hinzpeter from DLA Piper joined the firm's Munich office in July 2017.
