Evening talks in Düsseldorf: Focusing on employment law

Part-time work for limited periods, minimum requirements for restrictions on fixed-term employment contracts, data protection provisions – these were just some of the topics discussed by about 70 attendees at the evening talks at the Düsseldorf office the law firm of Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek on November 14, 2018. Claus Dettki of Handelsblatt Fachmedien welcomed the participants. Regina Glaser, Partner and Certified Specialist Lawyer in Employment Law at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek, provided information on current topics and offered tips for practical implementation.

The attendees were particularly interested in new obligations under data protection law that primarily affect work in HR and legal departments: To which extent must existing rules be adapted? How can data be handled in compliance with the law? What data protection provisions do employers need to consider when hiring new employees? Attendees enjoyed a lively exchange on these topics during the talks and the subsequent networking part of the event.

“This was a highly successful evening with extensive discussions and sound solutions. The attendees learnt that everyone was confronted with the same challenges and found valuable input by getting to know the processes in other companies,” said Regina Glaser.
