HEUKING advises hair care wholesaler Hair Haus on restructuring and negotiation of partnership agreement with Gieseke cosmetic
A HEUKING team led by partners Dr. Marc Scheunemann, Dr. Ulrich Jork, and Tim Petermann provided legal counsel to leading hair care wholesaler Hair Haus, headquartered in Viersen, in connection with the negotiation of a partnership agreement with Gieseke cosmetic as part of the Viersen-based company's restructuring. Going forward, Hair Haus will focus on strengthening and further developing its proprietary and exclusive brands. As part of the agreement, both companies will continue to operate independently.
Hair Haus is currently undergoing debtor-in-possession proceedings. The restructuring is being implemented through the preparation and coordination of an insolvency plan, which creditors are expected to vote on this summer. Subject to creditor approval and court confirmation of the insolvency plan, the reorganization of Hair Haus could be formally completed in the fall of 2026.
Hair Haus's team, as well as its suppliers and customers, have already been informed of these developments. They have signaled their support for the restructuring. "We are resolutely looking ahead and have established new pillars that form the foundation for the stability and future of our business model," says Hair Haus Managing Director Paul Billen. Hair Haus was further advised and operationally supported in its restructuring by a team of experienced restructuring consultants Detlef Specovius and Michael Böhner of the nationally active law firm Schultze & Braun.
