Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek advises German VEDDER group on acquisition of LOHER Raumexklusiv GmbH

German VEDDER group acquired material parts of its previous competitor LOHER Raumexklusiv GmbH of Wallersdorf/Lower Bavaria, which had to file for insolvency. In an asset deal, the major assets were acquired from the insolvency administrator Prof. Dr. Josef Scherer of Freising and the staff of LOHER Raumexklusiv was taken over. Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek comprehensively advised VEDDER group as part of the transaction, in particular on corporate law and insolvency law. The extremely tight schedule, which was given by the initiation of the insolvency proceedings, posed a particular challenge.

The strongly expanding Lüdinghausen-based traditional company VEDDER specializes in high-quality interior furnishing for luxury yachts and residences and is one of the world leaders in this segment. Among others, VEDDER supplied some of the interior furnishing for Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich's 160m luxury yacht "Eclipse." In addition to strengthening the existing areas, now the aircraft division will be added. The number of employees of both companies is now in excess of 300, with a manufacturing area of about 20,000 square meters. VEDDER has been part of corporate group Depa with headquarters in Dubai since 2008. Depa is one of the worldwide leaders in luxury interior fit-out and furnishing, including for hotels, offices and conference centers.
