Portigon AG concludes lease agreement with NRW Interior Ministry assisted by Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek

The NRW Interior Ministry is expected to relocate to the former WestLB building at Friedrichstraße by the end of 2014. Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek advised Portigon AG on concluding the largest lease contract in the Düsseldorf area in the last few years.

On Wednesday, the lease contract for building Friedrichstraße 62-80 was signed with the Ministry for Interior and Municipal Affairs of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. 850 employees of the Interior Ministry are expected to move into the offices by the end of next year. The building also offers space for representative purposes, events and Minister receptions.

"It is not too easy to lease out buildings of such a size! – We are pleased that all parties are satisfied and we were able, jointly with Portigon, to put the previous WestLB building to new use," said Dr. Ute Jasper, Head of the Public Sector & Public Procurement Practice Group at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek.
Stephan Freund, Partner at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek, is also very satisfied after concluding the lease: "In addition to the general legal requirements, we had to clarify numerous details in the last few months. The lease contracts for the large space are appropriately extensive."

Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek had advised Portigon AG from the beginning on preparing the marketing documents, had drafted the lease contracts and had led the contract negotiations.
